RESEARCH INTERESTS

As an environmental communicator trained in rhetoric and critical media studies, my research primarily examines media discourses of water issues, from the Flint water crisis to the Cape Town Day Zero disaster to the Ok glacier funeral. My own preference for print news has left me particularly interested in how newspapers cover water scarcity, particularly as it relates to agriculture, ice, and potable water. To learn more about my work in these areas, see below.
